Itinerary of SAIGON CYCLING TO PLATEAU AND BEACH
DAY 1: Saigon – Cu Chi tunnels – Saigon
Have a bus transfer to get out of the bustling Saigon city. As arriving the starting point of cycling where your bikes are waiting for you. Put on your gears and make an easy cycling along a quiet road to Cuchi, across local houses, and rubber plantations. Stop en route to see how to collect rubber latex from the trees.
Cuchi tunnel is a system for guerilla fighting technique made since Indochina war and got strong development with the presence of American army. It has a length of over 200km underground for hiding and fighting against other armies from unexpected time and place. A visit to the tunnel around 2 hours is a great experiment for the war stories, and history.
Cycling back by different way, across the rice fields, vegetable fields to a points where we get transferred back to Saigon by bus to avoid the crowd of motorbikes.
DAY 2: Saigon – Dalat.
Leave Saigon by bus along highway 1. Start the Saigon cycling to plateau and beach today from a rubber plantation, going up several big hills, passing by the hydropower reservoir with floating houses, tea and coffee plantations, green mulberry farms, waterfalls and the spectacular view of mountain and hills.
The cycling today is an uphill from 3m to 1500 m above the sea level, then the bus and the truck is rather helpful to give a help (if necessary) for saving energy at beautiful sections of the road. Arrive in Dalat in the late afternoon.
DAY 3: Dalat surroundings
Start the cycling from hotel, around the central lake, along streets with colonial feeling of Dalat with churches, French villas, across the pine tree forest, to the valley of love, by the vegetable gardens and terraced farms, flower farms. Further visit to the spirit of this French hill station can be a visit to Lam Ti Ni pagoda with an eccentric monk, wandering in the summer palace of the last king in Vietnam before cycling back to hotel.
DAY 4: Dalat – Phan Rang
Make some transfer to a top of the hill where we start cycling downhill, enjoy the breath taking view of the pass with translated name “spectacular”, the quiet road across cotton farms, tobacco farms, and rice farms. Stop at Po Klong Garai Champa temple to visit one of the most preserved temple of the lost kingdom Champa, build nearly a millennium ago, with the lost technique of brick and mortar.
Have a bus transfer to hotel for overnight in Phan Rang
DAY 5: Phan Rang – Nha Trang
Have a bus drive from Phan Rang to Nha Trang, along beautiful coastline, saul pans, vivid green rice farms, etc. Make a cycling along a sharp cliff with great view to the sea. After checking in, have cycling to Po Nagar Champa temple, flowing by visiting Hon Chong, a famous rock pile by the sea. Continue the Nha Trang cycling day by entering countryside at the back roads of Nha Trang for the view of villages, rice fields, and local ferries. Return to hotel in the late afternoon.
