DAY 1: Hue and surroundings: Gia Long Tomb, Hon Chen Temple, Huyen Khong Pagoda.
DAY 2: Villages around Hue: Huong river, Phu Mau village, Tam Giang lagoon, Tan My Fishing village, Ghost village, Sia Town, Tinh Tam lake.
DAY 3: Hue – Hoian: Tu Hien village, Cau Hai Lagoon, Pass of Cloud.
DAY 4: Hoi An – My Son – Hoian: boat ride, My Son Sanctuary of the lost Cham Kingdom
DETAIL ITINERARY – BIKING 4 DAYS FROM HUE TO HOIAN
Day 1: Arrival & Visiting Hue (biking 50km) (L,D)
On the morning of arrival, a Mekong Trails tour guide will pick you up at Phu Bai airport and help with your transfer to your hotel where you can check in and be given your bicycles. With safety in mind for your tour, our tour guide will give you some tips and information regarding traffic and also help you check over your bicycles.
After settling in, you will be guided to Gia Long Tomb, which is magnificent natural beauty. Cycling to Gia Long’s tomb offers adventure and sightseeing and brings you in direct contact with rural life, showing you the untouched beauty of Hue and everything it has to offer. On this route, you will also have a chance to visit Hon Chen Temple and enjoy a tasty lunch while relaxing on a boat!
Afterwards, you will have a chance to discover more of the beauty of Hue by visiting the Huyen Khong Pagoda, which was built by the mountain by monks. When you see this pagoda for yourself, the evidence of the talented people who built this before any modern equipment was created will surprise and amaze you.
Upon returning from the days adventures of cycling, you will have a chance to freshen up before enjoying dinner at Duyen Anh restaurant.
Day 2: Visiting countryside, Tam Giang lagoon, Ghost village (Biking 60 km) (B,L,D)
The 2nd day of your countryside cycling adventure will bring you along the majestic Hương river and along tổ Phụ Mẫu village, which is famous for its beautifully blooming flowers. Once you’ve meandered through the village, you’ll ride across Ca Cut Bridge which spans the scenic Tam Giang Lagoon and have a chance to stop en route in a quaint village specializing in mushroom farming. This part of the ride offers spectacular views of the rural landscape, some of the most beautiful throughout all of Vietnam. Once crossing over Ca Cut Bridge and arriving on the other side of Tam Giang Lagoon, you’ll have a chance to ride through the fishing village of Tan My for a visit to its well known, fantastically huge cemetery, known as the City of Ghosts. Symbols from many different religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Catholicism exist hand in hand in an incredible ensemble of tombs.
Once leaving Tam Giang Lagoon by boat, a visit to Sia Town and the Thu Le Village is in store for you, along with incredible sightseeing opportunities on Tinh Tam Lake as the sun sets.
While the night sets in, you can return to your homestay to have dinner at Y Thao Garden Restaurant and look back on the days wonderful events.
Day 3: Hue – Hoi An (biking 80 km) (B,L,D)
Starting the morning off, you’ll enjoy a short 15 kilometer ride by car and then start cycling along the short, passing the villages of Phu Dien, Ha Thanh, An Bank, Luong Vien and Tu Hien. Riding on for 10 kilometers to Tu Hien estuary and crossing the Tu Hien bridge, you’ll enjoy a scenic winding road with hills on one side and the Cau Hai Lagoon on the other. In between the village road and the Highway, a shuttle will take you to a local restaurant for lunch. Afterwards, the most challenging and unforgettable ride to the incredible Pass of Clouds is ahead of you. At the top of the pass is an incredibly rare opportunity for sightseeing where vestiges of the most significant contemporary eras of Vietnamese history can be seen. From a fortification built by the Nguyen dynasty, to military bunkers left from the French and American wars, you’ll enjoy thrilling views of the surrounding sea and mountains.
Once you arrive at the foot of the pass, you’ll be shuttled to Hoi An for a fascinating walking tour through the peaceful town.
You will then close out the evening with dinner at a local restaurant after you check in to charming The Tan Thanh Garden House.
Day 4: Hoi An – My Son (biking 50km) (B,L,D)
Riding from Tan Thanh Garden to central of the city.
After enjoying a boat ride with local people while visiting Cam Kim Duy Phuoc, Nam Phuoc town, Tra Kieu, Duy Chau you’ll have an opportunity to view the Chiem Son River and visit the My Son Sanctuary before returning to the hotel via car and enjoying dinner.
